How does it work?

1 - Solar panels capture sun's energy using photovoltaic cells. (Also works on cloudy days)

2 - Sunlight generates Direct Current (DC) which is converted via the inverter into Alternating Current (AC) the type of electricity used at home.

3 - The energy produced is used for lighting and power appliances. Surplus solar power is sold back to the national grid. At night if there is not enough power from the panels, your normal electricity suppliers continues to run your home needs.

According to EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) hot water usage accounts for up to 30% of a homes power bill. This same Agency has listed Heat Pumps as one of the most energy efficient forms of heating in New Zealand. Hot water heat pumps are much more efficient than traditional electric or gas water heaters.

How does it work?

A Heat pump is like a fridge working in reverse, extracting heat from the ambient air then efficiently transferring it to the water. Because the electrical input does not generate heat but just moves the free heat to the water, they are incredibly energy efficient compared to other forms of heating like Traditional Electric or Gas Heaters.

This is the most comfortable even warmth, of any heating system. It is economic to run and virtually maintenance free.

The Speedfit System uses warm water being pumped from a heat source and then distributed through a series of pipes laid in the floor.

In concrete floors, the pipe is laid on insulation and then covered with a screed which can be laid almost any type of floor covering.

The Floor area is typically warmed to between 25°C and 28°C, providing an even distribution of heat at only slightly higher than room temperature.

The system is controlled by one or more thermostats which control the manifold and boiler as required.
